The LA MEHKO Week Kickoff Event is a free community event celebrating the launch of LA MEHKO Week, a countywide celebration taking place November 9–15, 2026, showcasing Los Angeles’ home-based culinary entrepreneurs.
LA MEHKO Week coincides with the two-year anniversary of Los Angeles County’s MEHKO (Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operations) program, which allows entrepreneurs to legally prepare and sell meals directly from their permitted home kitchens. Throughout the week, participating businesses will offer special menus and promotions, inviting diners to discover delicious homemade food across Los Angeles County.
The kickoff event will bring together MEHKO chefs, community leaders, and local residents for food, networking, and a celebration of the entrepreneurs behind LA’s growing home-based food economy.
